A better way to reset your body and mind.
Cold water therapy is one of the fastest, easiest, and most natural ways to reset your body and mind.
What is Cold Water Therapy?
Cold water therapy means immersing your body in cold water (water that's less than 15°C). To give you a rough idea, the water coming from your cold tap at home will be less than 20°C (and usually between 10 and 20°C). Cold water therapy can involve taking an ice bath, a cold shower or having an outdoor swim.
CWI or Cold Water Immersion is widely regarded as the most effective. CWI means being submerged up to your neck in cold water. The most common ways to achieve this are by swimming outdoors or to have a recovery pod at home.
The Benefits of Deliberate Cold Water Exposure
We've been missing out for hundreds of years!
Cold Water Therapy has been used for thousands of years. Dating back to the Ancient Greeks and Egyptians. Cold Water Therapy was used for socialising, relaxation and medicinal purposes.
Over recent years Wim Hof AKA The Ice Man has been instrumental in bringing Cold Water Therapy back into the mainstream conversation, many Wim Hof practitioners — also called ‘Hoffers’ — have shared beautiful stories about the influence that cold water has had on their lives. However, the benefits of cold water vary, and affect everyone differently. That is why we created a summary with the most commonly reported benefits.

Warning
ALWAYS consult your doctor before using an ice bath if you have any health issues! DO NOT USE if you are: -
Under 18 years of age, Pregnant, have history of heart disease or high blood pressure, have diabetes, complications such as neuropathy or retinal damage, you wear a pacemaker, history of frostbite, have an open wound, had recent surgery, epilepsy or any other health concerns or risks.
Using an ice bath can dramatically decreases your body core temperature. The immersion in cold water constricts blood vessels and slows the flow of blood around the body, which combined with health complications, can cause your blood pressure to rise and give you a higher chance of cardiac arrest or stroke.
Side effects
The most noticeable side effect of an ice bath is feeling intense cold, but other side effects of staying in an ice bath for too long are: - hypothermia, frostbite, tachycardia (fast heart beat), arrhythmias (abnormal heart beat), allergic and anaphylactic shock.
Our recommendation
Despite the potential side effects and warnings, using an ice bath correctly actually has many health benefits! We will always recommend you begin by spending no more than a few minutes in the ice bath, and slowly working you way up to the recommended time, never push your body beyond its limits.
